William Gary Kennedy

William Gary Kennedy, 82, of Lexington, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Thomasville Medical Center.

He was born April 28, 1942, in High Point, to the late William Thurman Kennedy and to the late Myrtle Byerly Kennedy.

Left to cherish his memory; his beloved wife, Sandra Slate Kennedy of the home; son, Kyle Kennedy and his wife Dr. Andrea Kennedy of Blacksburg, VA; daughters, Kristin Abbott and husband Chris of Thomasville, and Kara Teetor and husband Darin of Archdale; grandchildren, Ryley Lang and Rebecca Teetor, and his brother Loy Kennedy.

Gary was a proud husband, father and grandfather. He was an Eagle Scout, part of NC Troop 1. He was an avid camper and fisherman, and he was able to accomplish a lifelong dream of piloting an airplane during a flight lesson. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from High Point College and later taught business math at GTCC for many years.

The family will receive friends 12:00-1:00PM Friday, December 20, 2024, at Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point.

Private graveside service will be at Holly Hill Memorial Park cemetery in Thomasville.
