William Wilson Cook, 79, of High Point, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Born September 26, 1941, in Madison, he was a son of the late William Vester Cook and the late Bertha May Barrett Cook. Mr. Cook graduated from Madison-Mayodan High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served in U.S. Marines and spent most of his career in product development with Burlington Industrial Fabrics. Mr. Cook traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe, and retired from his own business in 2002. Following retirement, he became a novelist who enjoyed attending festivals selling his books. He enjoyed reading classical literature and writing newspaper articles.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife, Linda Vaughn Cook of the home; son, William Brady “Brad” Cook and wife Kim of Boise, Idaho; brother, Tommy Cook of Madison; sister-in-law, Dr. Elaine Montgomery of High Point; and granddaughter, Carleigh Cook.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Cook.
Burial will be private at Floral Garden Park.
