Wilbur L. Lockrow

Wilbur L “Bill” Lockrow, passed away at 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 30, 2018.
He was born in Schenectady, NY, March 18, 1932, to Wilbur M. and Frances M. Lockrow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline L. Lockrow.
Bill graduated from Hartwick College with a BA and from N.C. State University with a BS in civil engineering, and was a Korean war veteran. Bill worked for J.A. Jones Construction Company as a construction engineer and superintendent in the United States, Greenland and Iraq. He worked the last twenty-seven years of his career for First Union National Bank, managing the completion of branch offices and major foreclosed commercial properties. He was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church choir and a long-time barbershop quartet singer.
Bill is survived by sisters, Nany L. Haislip and Linda L. Deese; nephews, Robert Haislip and David Deese; nieces, Sue Paytas, Becky Dieter and Deborah LaFevers and their children.
A service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Charlotte, NC, on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 2:00 pm, with inurnment in the church columbarium.
A reception will be held at the church following the service.
