Wandean Carter Jacobs

Wandean Carter Jacobs, 60, of High Point, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, at her home.

Wandean was born in Tocca, Georgia and as a toddler moved to Co-lumbia, South Carolina where she was raised by her parents. Wandean attended High School at W. J. Keenan High and graduated in 1978. In addition to completing H.S Wandean also earned a certificate to become a medical assistant. She achieved this accomplishment in the latter years of her life. Proving that it’s never too late to improve yourself. Follow-ing H.S. Wandean began working for the Department of Family Social Services (DSS) in Columbia where she worked for approximately 10 years. Upon her departure from DSS, Wandean became a devoted moth-er raising three sons and a daughter.

Everyone that knew Wandean immediately knew she had a passion for cooking, and singing. Her favorite dish of which requested repeated-ly was Macaroni and cheese enjoyed by all. Wandean enjoyed singing, she sang on the choir at Saint Luke Baptist Church as a member. In fact, the majority of what Wandean loved to sing spirituals, “ Boy did she have a voice.” Matching Wandean’s cooking and spiritual gift for singing was her witty personality that always left you laughing. Most of the time Wan-dean or Dean as family often referred to her as, loved being humorous no matter how serious circumstances were. But don't get it twisted as she would say. She could raise up and be direct with you if she had to. One of the most important aspects of Wandeans life was her love for family. She passionately commented about her son’s, daughter in laws, daughter, and grandchildren. To which brought her great Joy!

Preceded in death by Wandean or Dean is her mother Laura Mae Smalls and father Cleo Carter: to include step father Melvin Small. Survived by Wandean or Dean is three sons and daughter: Marcus and Wife Jazmine Jacobs, Michael( twin) and wife Lynn Jacobs, Wesley Jacobs and Tay Simmons, daughter Latoya and wife Brionna Carter. Sister Sharron A. Walters and brother in law Dr. Lyle K. Walters. Ten grand-children, a host of nieces and nephews
