Virgie Earley Owens

Virgie Earley Owens, 101, of High Point, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Kernersville Medical Center.

Born October 24, 1920, in Rosman, NC, she was the daughter to the late Sam Earley and the late Prudence Banther Earley.  Virgie worked as a upholstery seamstress at Silver Craft Furniture for over forty years.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Virgie helped take care of her parents, brothers, and sisters, also making sure they had decent burials and was also a care giver for some of her grandchildren.

She is survived by a sons, George Owens (Sharon) of High Point and Sammy Owens (Betty) of Jacksonville, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; thirty nine great great grandchildren; and four great great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Owens and daughter, Helen Armstrong.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 15, 2022, in the chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Rev. Steve McSwaim officiating.  Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to service.

Wright Funerals-Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
