Susan Saunders Grayson, 77 years old, of High Point, NC, died at home surrounded by her family on January 21, 2023.

Susan was born on November 14, 1945, in Charlotte, and grew up in Troy, NC. She attended Greensboro College and later Western Carolina University. After graduating with a degree in Special Education she worked as a teacher in Lexington City Schools and for 25 years as a preschool teacher at Saint Francis Episcopal Church, Christ Community and Caldwell Preschools in Greensboro. Her great joys in life were her family and she had a special place in heart for her furry friends. Susan loved time spent at Holden Beach, reading, last minute road trips, and was an excellent cook.

Susan was preceded in death by her father Everette Saunders and her mother Gwendolyn Freeman Saunders. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Walter Grayson, daughter Stephanie Davis (Grey) of Greensboro, Chris Grayson (Haley) of Greensboro, and Adam Grayson (Dana) of High Point; five grandchildren: Grey Adam, Gwen, Charlie, Katie, and Larry. A family graveside service will be held at Ophir Methodist Church in Troy.
