Susan Johnson Obituary

Susan Cranford Johnson ,70, of Thomasville lost her battle with Cancer on May 5, 2021.

Born February 25, 1951, in Thomasville to Charles “Buddy” and Barbara “Bobbie” Cranford. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Johnson of Thomasville; daughter Cindy Gailey Overstreet of Silver Valley; step daughter Lorrie Bretzloff and husband John of Wilmington NC; granddaughters, Sarah Solomon and her husband Don of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Christina Overstreet and her Fiancé Robbie Hagy of High Point and grandson, Dakota Overstreet of Lenoir; step-granddaughters, Lauren and Lilly of Wilmington; great grandchildren, Anson and Addilyn of High Point; brother Charles Cranford and wife Suzanne of Salisbury; sister, Robin Ball and her husband Barry of Trinity; sisters, Teresa Bishop and husband Bill of High Point, and Jane Harrington; her many dogs of Thomasville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Conrad Gailey; stepson, Jerry Johnson Jr., son-in-law, Lester Overstreet; and niece April Taylor Crawford

The many people who knew her were always warmed by her loving nature. She was a wonderful cook, decorator, and avid gardener. All of us were amazed by her “green thumb”. She was a seamstress by trade for Henredon Furniture for many years and Baker Furniture before retiring. She loved her family and friends and would do without to help them if needed. She was always a hard worker and in her down time would take refuge in her garden with her beloved dogs Harley, then Charlie and one of her favorite birds “red”.

She will sorely be missed by all but, we look forward to seeing her in God’s

Garden one day where she is surely to have her hands in dirt, with a healthy body and that beautiful smile she so freely gave to us all.

A private memorial will be held later with close family and friends.

Memorials can be directed to Hospice of Davidson County. In lieu of flowers we ask that you plant a bulb or flower in random places in honor of Susan that it may bring joy to all who see.
