Ron Gray York

Ronald (Ron) Gray York, 80, of High Point, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Shannon Gray Nursing and Rehab.

Born January 2, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a son of the late William Robert York and the late Eula Tickle York.  Ron moved to Winston Salem when he was a year old.  He worked at The Methodist Children’s Home in Winston Salem, Guilford County School System, then machinery repair for Advance Home Care, where he retired.  Ron was a member of New Life Baptist Church and loved his Carolina Tarheel Basketball team.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Moore York of the home; stepdaughter, Kimberly Blake of Ramseur; and sister-in-law, Linda York of Greensboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Pastor Michael Mabe of New Life Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

The family will visit from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church, 1100 East Fairfield Road, High Point, NC  27263, or Hospice of the Piedmont, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC  27203.
