Robert "Bob" Blue Obituary

Robert G. Blue, 71, of High Point died June 28, 2020.  Bob was born in Laurinburg, NC in 1948 to the late D. Tom Blue, and Doris T. Blue, currently of River Landing in Colfax. He is survived by his mother and his two sons, R. Elliot Blue (Lauren) of Greensboro and Graham T. Blue (Meredith) of Thomasville, GA.  Also surviving are his twin brother Bill Blue (Becky) and sister Trisha Blue (Don Medina) of High Point. Bob’s greatest joy was being with his grandchildren, Dixie Rose Blue, Fischer Jack Blue, and Kennedy Blue.

After graduating from Guilford College, Bob worked in the accounting departments of Custom Processing, Guilford Packaging, Black Furniture, KT Fabrics and  Volvo Business Services. Bob’s civic involvement included serving as president of the High Point Kiwanis Club, being a member of the YMCA’s Men’s Club and serving on the board of the High Point Mental Health Association. Bob was an active member of the Wesley Memorial UMC Men’s Group and a Unity Group. He especially enjoyed lifelong friends through the High Point Central Class of ’67 BDC dinner group.

The family would like to thank the Moses Cone Hospital Cardiology and Neurology departments for their great care of Bob.

Memorials can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in recognition of Bob’s dedication to The Blue’s Gingerbread House Fundraiser, founded by Lauren and Elliot Blue.  Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 401 Harrison Oaks Blvd. Suite 200 Cary, NC 27513.
