Reverend B.R. Hiatt

Reverend Bobby Reid “B.R.” Hiatt, 92, of Florence, SC, formerly of High Point, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, at McLeod Health in Florence.

Born April 5, 1929, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Charles Hiatt and the late Sula Jane Reid Hiatt. Rev, Hiatt graduated from Guilford College and Southeastern Theological Seminary. He pastored churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Locally he served as pastor of Archdale Baptist Church and Conrad Memorial Baptist Church until his retirement in 1988.

Rev. Hiatt is survived by his wife, Ruth Williams Hiatt of Florence; sons, Dr. Randy E. Hiatt and wife Debbie of Florence, NC, and Rev. Harrell Hiatt and wife Sherrie of Carolina Beach, NC; brother, Charles Hiatt, Jr. of Concord; and five grandchildren.

In addition to ho his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Barry Hiatt.

Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Friedland Moravian Church. Burial will follow in the church graveyard.

The family will receive friends following the service.
