Mrs. Patricia Blair Smith, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Hospice Home of the Piedmont following a brief illness. Born April 3, 1932, in High Point, Patricia was a daughter of the late William Ivey Blair and the late Lucille Clodfelter Blair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L. Frank Smith; and sister, Janet Blair Kirkman.
Patricia was a 1950 graduate of High Point Central High School, then worked for High Point Bank and later NCNB/NationsBank/Bank of America for many years until retirement in 1996. Pat was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church of High Point where she served as both Deacon and Elder. In earlier years, Pat and Frank served on the Church Planting Committee to start a new church, Forest Hills Presbyterian, and she taught Children's Sunday School. Pat was an active member of First Presbyterian's Women of the Church, as well as a volunteer at The High Point Museum Guild and Mobile Meals Delivery. Most importantly, Pat loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her beloved Calico Sassy Cat (also Siamese Ellis and PurrPurr). She loved seeing and talking to her children and three grandsons, and greatly treasured time spent with them. She was blessed with a green thumb in her beautiful flower gardens and a creative talent for knitting, needlepoint, and crochet.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Lauren Blair Huguelet and husband David of St. Louis; her son, Michael Frank Smith of High Point; brother, William "Bill" Blair, Jr. and wife Sheila of Thomasville; sister, Melissa Jane Blair of High Point; three grandsons, Michael Alexander Smith of Wilmington; David Austin Huguelet of St. Louis; and Colin Andrew Huguelet of St. Louis; and nephews and nieces.
