Michael Leo Schneider, Jr., 70, of Thomasville, formerly of Lumberton, passed away May 9, 2022, in Thomasville.

Born April 30, 1952, in Robeson County, he was a son of the late L.J. Connor and the late Grace Fisher Connor. Mike was a member of the US National Guard and volunteered with Lumber Rescue Squad for twenty years. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart and loved the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Tar Heels. Mike enjoyed tending to his little shop making knives and mending toys for the kids.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Judy Holder Schneider of the home; sons, Russell Britt and wife Kalyn of Thomasville, and Michael Schneider of Lumberton; daughter, Amanda Rouse of Raeford; brother, Chris Connor of Lumberton; grandchildren, Grace Schneider, Ava Schneider, Briana Wyatt all of Lumberton, Reece Britt and Ellie Britt both of Thomasville; a very special daughter, Amy Lassiter of Lumberton, niece, Wendy Moore of Leland; nephews, Chris Hester of Hagerstown MD, and Hutch Strickland of Wilmington.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Lumberton Rescue Squad, 2391 N. Roberts Ave., Lumberton, NC 28358.
