Martha Lassiter Meredith, 98, of High Point, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020, at High Point Medical Center.
Born June 15, 1921, in Randolph County, she was a daughter of the late Irving Lassiter and the late Vivian Carter Lassiter. Martha lived in the High Point/Greensboro area most of her life, and in Florida for twenty-five years. She was a homemaker and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Martha was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was happiest when she was with her family.
She is survived by her son, Doug (Rita) Meredith; daughter, Emily Fagan (Eddie); brother, Chase Lassiter; sisters, Irvene Hyatt, Pat Sowers, and Nancy Simpson; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Allen Meredith; son, Tom Meredith; brothers, Mac Lassiter and Carter Lassiter; and sisters, Virginia Royal and Nora Mangum.
Private graveside will be held on May 6, 2020, at Guilford Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Patterson and Rev. Melissa Lowe officiating. A memorial service will be at a late date.
