Obituary

Laurence (Larry) Miller Gibney, 74, of High Point, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, after a brief illness.

Born January 28, 1949, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Clyde Gibney and the late Helen Miller Gibney. Larry attended Central Washington State University and was a US Army veteran and attended Army Officer’s Training School. Following his time in the Army, he had a varied career in finance. In 2000, he moved to High Point and started USA Funding and later USA Staffing with offices in High Point and Charlotte. 

Larry was an avid follower of F1 racing and enjoyed spending time boating around on the local lakes. He was always the first to acquire the next Tom Clancy or Dan Brown novel. 

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Gibney Vigneault; grandchildren, Alexandra Gibney, Christian Davis, Cameron Vigneault and Carter Vigneault.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifteen years, Donna Christian Gibney.
