Kathleen Solich Zalben, 69, of High Point, passed away peacefully Monday, September 21, 2020, at High Medical Center after a courageous battle with COVID-19.
Born August 22, 1951, in East Chicago, Indiana, she graduated from the Notre Dame College of Ohio, with an associate’s degree in accounting and computer science.
Kathleen enjoyed a long and successful career in accounting as an entrepreneur and manager in both Ohio and North Carolina. She had great energy and love for life. Her many interests included reading, art, music, and travel. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and sharing great times and adventures with them. Her kind spirit, optimism, and wisdom will sorely be missed, but will live on in our hearts and in our memories for years to come. She will always be the flame…never the moth.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Michael William Solomonides; daughter, Hillary Olderman and husband David of Ohio; grandchildren, Madeleine and Gavin; sisters, Debbie Chmielewski and husband Rich of Dyer, IN, Pam Case and husband George of Boiling Springs, SC, and Darlene Hansen and husband Ray of Orlando, FL.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
A special note of appreciation to the nursing staff of ICU #24 and all the doctors for their kind, compassionate, and diligent care extended to Kathleen throughout her illness.
