Julia Ward Gibbs, 91, of High Point, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020, at Pennybyrn.

Born October 23, 1928, in Montclair, (Essex County) New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Paul Ward and the late Helen James Ward. Mrs. Gibbs was a graduate of Antioch College with a degree in accounting, and was a retired office manager.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Gibbs Stringi and husband Peter; sons, Douglas Ward Gibbs and Donald David Gibbs and wife Dee; grandchildren, Lauren Jane Hall, Ryan Patrick Gibbs, John Peter Stringi, John Derick Phillips, and Amanda Lee Phillips; great-grandchildren, Elle Hall, Alexa Hall, JoLynn Gibbs, Scotlynn Phillips, and Emelia Phillips and Wesley Stringi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Donald Gibbs.

Services will be at a later date.
