Jo Ann Allen Kelly

Mrs. JoAnn Allen Kelly (Mom), age 83, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 12, 2021.  She is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and in the loving arms of her husband of 60 years, James E. Kelly, Jr (Dad) in Heaven!

She was born Jan. 18, 1938, to Robert Curtis Allen and Ruth Moore Allen and lived in Thomasville, NC for her entire life.  JoAnn (Mom) spent her early life in school at NCSD in Morganton, NC where she played basketball and was voted Homecoming Queen.

JoAnn (Mom) worked for 30+ years at TFI, in data entry, where she retired in 2000. She was a member of Lexington Church of Christ and Friendly Ave Church of Christ during her lifetime and was an active member of the Deaf Services with her loving husband, Jim.  JoAnn (Mom) was also an active and original member of Davidson County Deaf Association (DCDA) in which she and her husband started in the very early 80’s.  JoAnn (Mom) had two dachschunds, Bell and Lara along with Scout and Hope that she loved with all her heart.

On March 11, 1961, she married James E. Kelly Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama who preceeded her in death on July 7, 2013.

Surviving are her sons Erik A. Kelly and Mark E. Kelly; his wife, Machelle; two grandchildren, Megan and Lindsay and great-grandchildren.

It was JoAnn’s (Mom) wish not to have any formal services.
