Jerry Nelson Grainger, 78, of Thomasville, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Hinkle Hospice House.
Born January 26, 1943, in Horry County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Kilby Grainger and the late Retha Strickland Grainger.
Jerry is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Dorothy Jean Hancock Grainger of the home; children, Kent Grainger of High Point, Cheryl Martin (Josh) of Welcome, and Lisa Tysinger of Randleman; step children, Tony Peters and wife Dawn of Lexington, and Anthony Peters of Lexington brothers, Junior Grainger and wife Betty of Tabor City, and Roger Grainger of South Carolina; sisters, Frankie Walker and husband Bill of South Carolina, Faye Hebler and husband Bernie of Randleman, Mavis Chenoweth and husband Neil of Welcome, and Ronnie Mae Brown of Thomasville; grandchildren, Brandon Hedgcock, Ashley Hedgcock. Gage Peters, Logan Peters, Breann Martin, Chloe Peters, Cody Peters, and Katie Martin, and one great-grandson, Lucas Hedgcock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Scotty Grainger, Leo Grainger, and John Grainger.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2021, in the chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations.
The family will receive friends following the service.
