Janice Bernice (Wood) Carter

Janice Bernice Wood Carter, 91, of Winston Salem, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Arbor Acres.  She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and grandmother, and friend to many.

Born December 23, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Baxter Gray Wood and the late Bernice Willford Wood.  Janice was a homemaker and a member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church in High Point.

She is survived by her daughter, Sami Price of High Point; daughter-in-law, Laura Carter of Vilas, NC: sisters, Sandy Hyder (Mel) of Blowing Rock and Becky Shinn (Bob) of Concord; grandchildren, Carter Price, Carrie Price, August Carter, and Ellis Carter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Charles R. Carter, son, Eban Carter, and stepmother, Grace Hamrick Wood.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
