Jacquelin Alexander Obituary

Jacquelin Jones Alexander, 79, of High Point, passed away Friday February 2, 2024, at the Hospice Home of High Point, following a battle with cancer, with her son, David by her side.

Born on September 2, 1944, in Columbus, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Herbert C. Warren (Columbus, GA) and Ann Scarlett of Thomasville, NC.

Jacquelin attended Fair Grove High School and graduated in 1961. In 1963, she was in the Miss Thomasville Pageant and was runner-up. She attended Business College and begin her working career in banking (Wachovia & First Union) as an administrative assistant. She later worked at Wright of Thomasville, Ciba-Geigy, Piedmont / US Airways and in the hotel industry.

She lived in High Point and Myrtle Beach, SC.  She loved cooking and traveling. She and her traveling companions had many adventures and created long lasting memories. She loved to meet new people and make friends wherever she went.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Ann Howard.

She is survived by her son, David Howard (Ann) of High Point, and grandson, Aaron Howard, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per her wishes, there will be no formal service. Jacquelin requested that in lieu of flowers or gifts, that donations be made in her honor to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.

The family would like to thank her many longtime friends and extended family for their prayers, kind words, and support through her brave journey with cancer. Brenda Kiger, Zennie Royals, Rita Miller, Ellen Walker, Daystar Pat Dial, Brenda Mizelle, Wanda Cox, Marilyn Groome, Ashley Prichett,  Sheila Gray, Judy Wheeless, Tanya Simmons along with her neighbors at Spanish Peak in High Point and so many more. The family would also like to thank their friends and family and their many friends at the HPPD for their support during this time.
