Jack Kendrick Talbert, Sr.

Jack Kendrick Talbert, Sr., 77, passed away from complications of Alzheimer's on December 2, 2018, at Hospice Home in High Point, North Carolina. He was born to Katherine Kendrick Talbert and John Berry Talbert, Sr. on June 10, 1941, in Altavista, Virginia.

Jack is survived by his wife of 17 years, Shari Humphreys Talbert, and their children,  Katherine Nicole Talbert Ryan (Nicki); Sean Ryan (former son-in-law); Jack Kendrick Talbert, Jr. (Jay) (and his wife Jenni); Jackie Lloyd McDowell, Jr. (and his wife Tiffany); grandchildren, Conner Ryan, Kendrick Ryan, Emerson Ryan, Jack Talbert, III, Eliza Talbert, Zoe McDowell, Kaylee Snellen, and Anika McDowell, his brother, John Berry Talbert, Jr. and wife Judy, and brother, William Hoyle Talbert, Sr. and wife Lillian, brother-in-law, Larry Joe Humphreys and wife Marsha, and a very special unique friend, Mallory Paige Snellen. He also left behind beloved nieces and nephews.

Jack was a graduate of New Hanover High School and went on to join the United States Air Force from 1959-1962 as an Airman second class. From there he continued his education at Wake Forest University in 1963 earning a degree in business. Jack moved his family to Wrightsville Beach in 1972. He spent most of his career in the Wilmington area in Sales, Real Estate/Land Development and Boataminiums. Sea Path Marina, Bradley Creek Marina, Inlet Watch Yacht Club, Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, and Radio Island Marina in Beaufort, N.C. were several of his accomplishments.

Jack enjoyed beach music, shagging, boating, and fishing. He loved his family and friends and his happiest times were spent with family and playing with his grandchildren. Jack instilled the importance of education and working hard to his children and grandchildren. His smile, loving nature and kind heart were infectious. The legacy he leaves behind is invaluable. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

A celebration for Jack’s life will be held in Wrightsville Beach at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The National Alzheimer's Association.
