Elizabeth Ann (Liz) Muldoon, 80, of High Point, North Carolina, went home to heaven on August 28, 2023, surrounded by her family after a period of declining health.
Liz was born on July 27, 1943, in Albany, New York to Joseph Frances Holpit and Mary Frances Muldoon Holpit. Liz was also known by the nickname Gidget by her family and friends. She was raised in Ravena, NY in the family home. Preceding Liz in death are her parents.
Liz graduated from St. Vincent Catholic High School in Ravena and then from Geneseo College in Geneseo, NY studying elementary education. She furthered her education at Nazareth College in Pittsford, NY obtaining a Masters degree in Speech Pathology and spent her career helping children as one of her passions.
Liz married Paul Earnst in 1964 and raised two sons in Fairport, NY, Scott and Tyler Earnst. Liz was divorced and enjoyed her hobbies of interior design, reading and cheering for the Buffalo Bills.
Liz is survived by her family Scott and Melissa Earnst, their children Mitchell, Liam, Bailey and Marina Earnst of Mebane, NC and Tyler and Beth Earnst of High Point and her loving grey Labrador retriever Hobey.
Elizabeth worked in the school systems of Fairport, NY and then in Chapel Hill, NC and retired from Guilford County Schools as a speech pathologist.
A celebration of her life will be held at Fairview United Methodist Church, 3128 Osceola Road, Elon, NC, 27244 on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
