Edwin Glenn Smith, 73, of High Point, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019, at High Point Medical Center.

Born June 28, 1945, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late A. Glenn Smith and the late Mary Frances Kearns Smith. Ed was self-employed and helped many families with their cemetery monument needs. He had many friends in the community who he kept in contact with his daily phone calls. Ed was a US Air Force veteran and a member of First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Bright Smith of the home, children, Blake Smith, Joanne Gilbert and husband Philip, and Christopher Malone all of Greensboro; grandchildren, Britanie Smith, Emma Gilbert, Grace Gilbert, and Klyn Malone; great-grandchildren, Jackson Hunneman, Cameron Hunneman, and Lily Grace Hunneman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Debbie Malone.

At Ed’s request, there will be no formal service.
