Edward Grady Moore, 98, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 30, 2023, at Forsyth Hospital surrounded by his family.
Eddie was born October 6, 1924, to Grady Henry Lee and Eunice Scott Moore. He graduated from Hanes High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Eddie served overseas in England, France, Belgium, and Germany. He worked at the Veterans Administration for forty-one years in the Vocational Rehabilitation Division and the Pharmacy. Eddie was an active member of Trinity Moravian Church and served in many capacities such as making love feast candles and helping in the Trinity Moravian Boy Scouts Troop #716. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels for sixteen years. Eddie will be remembered for his humble demeanor, love of family, and being the most incredible husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his sister, Arbutus Hendrix, son, David Moore, four grandchildren, David Moore, Jr., Michael Moore, Wendy Moore McAlpine (Mike), and Brad Moore; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Moore, Kelsi Moore, Alex Moore (Abriel), Madison McAlpine, Corbin Moore, Laurel McAlpine, Alayna Moore; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters in law, Bobbie Hege, and Sue Chaffin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of seventy-two years, Marie Moore, and his son, Steve Moore.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Salisbury National Cemetery with Mr. Mike McAlpine officiating. The Randolph County Honor Guard will present honors.
