Edell Stanley, Sr.

William Edell Stanley, Sr. 81, of Trinity NC was carried by angels to be with his heavenly father forevermore on January 31, 2023. 

Mister Stanley arrived in this world on October 25, 1941, in Surry County, NC to his parents Daniel Frederick Stanley and Minnie Ann Stanley-Langley.  One of his passions in life was driving, he was a self-employed independent contractor cross country truck driver.  He enjoyed nothing more than driving throughout America!  Another passion of Mister Stanley was buying and selling at various flea markets in the area. He was known and respected throughout the various buyers and sellers as a man of integrity. He also loved to fish. His greatest memories were made with his family at the coast or a lake fishing.

Mister Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Phylis Smith-Stanley, his brothers, Frederick Stanley Jr., Bobby Dean Stanley, sisters, Magdalene Fowler, Shirley Hamilton, and son Buddy Dale Stanley.

Mister Stanley is survived by his sons, Michael and Shirley Stanley of Okinawa Japan, William Jr. and Loretta Stanley of Thomasville, NC, Freddy Stanley and Debi Pate of Lancaster, SC, Johnathan E. Stanley of High Point, NC, Bobby Lamb of Troy, NC and Chuck Stanley of Trinity, NC; daughters, Lisa and Steve Smith of Thomasville, NC, Claudia Lea Stanley of Trinity, NC, Melanie and Tim Jacobs of Trinity, NC, Sherrie Frits of Asheboro, NC, Wilma Ruth Stanley of Trinity, NC and Penny Davis of Archdale, NC; brothers, Arvil Stanley, Johnny Stanley and Jackie Stanley, all of Mt. Airy, NC, not to mention countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren all whom love and will cherish him memory.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church at 2984 Rob Cruthis Rd, Archdale NC, the Reverend Steve Smith, Mister Stanley’s son in law, will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery.  

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Hospice of Randolph County.
