Douglas Lee Spitzbergen

Douglas Lee Spitzbergen, 72, of Trinity, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at his home.

Born May 8, 1950, in Lansing, Michigan, he was a son of the late Leland D. Spitzbergen and the late Frida Vanduinen Spitzbergen. Doug was a US Air Force veteran and was a security officer. He was family oriented and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Doug enjoyed golf, music, foreign cars, history and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Potts Spitzbergen of the home; son, Marty Spitzbergen and wife Victoria of Kentucky; daughter, Emily Spitzbergen of Greensboro; stepson, Chris Honeycutt and wife Taylor of Thomasville; sister, Marcia Reynolds and husband Rick of Florida; grandchildren, John, Hank, Wade, Kenny, and Ryan.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, March 31, 2023, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Larry Potts officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
