David Beck

Paul David Beck, 62, of Thomasville, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Randolph Hospice.

Born August 6, 1958, in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Paul Coy Beck and the late Peggy Stephens Beck. David graduated from Trinity High School in 1976, and played football and baseball throughout high school.  Was so proud of being a Bull Dog. David attended Elon College, studied sports management, and worked as police, fire, and rescue around 5 years in Long Beach, Brunswick County after leaving Elon College. Throughout his life he learned many trades including the furniture industry, pipe fitting, journeyman, and was an accomplished sales manager in the last years of his active career.  Golf was his passion and he was constantly shooting in the 70s until his health began failing.  David was an avid UNC Tarheel fan and Carolina Panthers fan. His other passion was beach music and shag dancing with his wife, Jill. They would drive for hours to see their favorite bands and dance. He also enjoyed camping in their fifth-wheel camper, and his shagging community friends.

David is survived by his wife, Jill Denise Kennedy of the home; son, Christian Beck (Erica) of Texas; daughter, Courtney Beck (Jacob) of California; step-daughter, Stephanie Atkinson (Matt) of High Point; grandchildren, Ella and Paul Beck.
