Charles Roland Styron, 79, of Sophia, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at Randolph Hospice Home.
Born December 21, 1937, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Roland Styron and the late Hattie Stroud Styron. Mr. Styron was a veteran of the US Army National Guard and was a retired upholster with Brayton International. In addition to being a member of the Triad Cowboy Church, he was a member of the Appaloosa, Palomino and Paint Breeders Association of America. Mr. Styron was a registered and approved judge for The American Horse Shows Association, Western and English for thirty-two years. He leaves behind his favorite horse, “Ranger Bob”.
Mr. Styron is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Lohr Styron of the home; son, Robert Charles Styron and wife Nicole of TX; daughter, Karen Styron Frank and husband Bill of Sophia; sister-in-law, Cecile Styron of Trinity; grandchildren, Robert Zane Styron, Zachary Christopher Charles Styron, Michael Chase Styron, Steven Mitchell Styron, Miles Winston Frank and wife Lauren, Garrett Wynfield Frank, and Dawn Laurice Frank; great-grandchildren, Adyan, Issabelle, Zachary, Keagan and Stetson.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Phillip Styron and Bobby Styron.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Emily Hiatt Horse Barn at Millis Farms, 7109 Harlow Rd., High Point with Rev. Doug Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

In his final days, he said: “I wished I had prayed more.”
