Carolyn Louise (Wayne) Whitaker

Carolyn Louise Wayne Whitaker, 82, of High Point, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at her home.

Born June 25, 1939, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Fred Wayne, Sr. and the late Gladys Louise Shaver Wayne. Carol was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Westchester Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Ronald Ray “Sonny” Whitaker of the home; son, Darin Whitaker and wife Wendy of High Point; daughter, Ronda Whitaker of High Point; brother, Mike Wayne of High Point; grandchildren, Grayson Whitaker, and Mackenzie Whitaker.

Carolyn’s immense love and support for family and friends was what made her so special, and is what will be missed the most.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2021, in the chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Rev. Eric Peacock officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
