Candelaria (Quintanilla) Gonzales

Candelaria Quintanilla de Gonzales, 94, of Greensboro, passed away Monday, March 20th, 2023, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. 

Born February 2, 1929, in Cochabamba Bolivia, she was the youngest daughter of the late Manuel Quintanilla and Petrona Terrazas de Quintanilla. From an early age, Candelaria committed her life to Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, in her hometown of Quillacollo. In her mid-twenties she met Silverio Gonzales, they were married for more than sixty-four years. The Lord blessed them with four children, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Candelaria alongside her husband, pastor Gonzales served Christ for more than seventy years spreading the gospel and planting churches in his homeland Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela and USA. Her passion was to disciple women and girls thought the ministry of Girls in Action GA and Women Missionary Union WMU. She was deeply involved in her local church, teaching, discipleship and volunteering in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by her children, Juan Daniel Gonzales, Betzabe Colmenares, David Gonzales, and Elias Gonzales; daughter-in-law, Nereida Gonzales; son-in-law, Lucas Colmenares; grandchildren, Jenifer Agentis and James Agentis III, Andrea and Drew Palko, Daniel Alcantara, Lucas and Celeste Colmenares, Daniela Gonzales, Sofia and Terry Thompson Jr and Daniel Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Terry Thompson III, Jeremiah Boone and Elior Colmenares.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Silverio Gonzales in 2022.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, March 27, 2023, at Life Community Church on Wendover Ave. with Rev. Chad Grayson officiating. Burial will follow in Guil-Rand Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.

Candelaria Quintanilla de Gonzales, de 94 años, de Greensboro, falleció el lunes 20 de marzo de 2023 en el Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Nacida el 2 de febrero de 1929 en Cochabamba Bolivia, era la hija menor del difunto Manuel Quintanilla y Petrona Terrazas de Quintanilla. Desde una edad temprana, Candelaria rindió su vida a Cristo como su Señor y Salvador personal, en su ciudad natal de Quillacollo. A mediados de sus veinte años conoció a Silverio Gonzales, estuvieron casados durante más de sesenta y cuatro años. El Señor los bendijo con cuatro hijos, siete nietos y tres bisnietos.

Candelaria junto a su marido, el pastor Gonzales sirvió a Cristo durante más de setenta años difundiendo el evangelio y plantando iglesias en su tierra natal, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela y EE. UU. Su pasión era discipular a las mujeres y a las niñas a través del ministerio de Niñas en Acción (GA) y la Unión Femenil Misionera (WMU). Estaba profundamente involucrada en su iglesia local, la enseñanza, el discipulado y el voluntariado en la escuela dominical y la escuela bíblica de vacaciones.

Le sobreviven sus hijos; Juan Daniel Gonzales, Betzabe Colmenares, David Gonzales y Elias Gonzales; nuera, Nereida Gonzales; yerno, Lucas Colmenares; nietos, Jenifer Agentis y James Agentis III, Andrea y Drew Palko, Daniel Alcantara, Lucas y Celeste Colmenares, Daniela Gonzales, Sofía y Terry Thompson Jr y Daniel Gonzales; bisnietos, Terry Thompson III, Jeremiah Boone y Elior Colmenares.

Además de sus padres, fue precedida en la muerte por su marido, Silverio Gonzales, en 2022.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo a las 11:00 AM el día lunes 27 de marzo de 2023, en Life Community Church en Wendover Ave. con el reverendo Chad Grayson oficiando. El entierro seguirá en el Guil-Rand Memorial Park.
