Brookelyn Lorraine Elmore Bradley, 51, of Thomasville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Brookelyn was born June 19, 1970, in Bay City, Michigan, she was named Melanie Marie Kauppanen by her biological parents, the late William Kauppanen and the late Lorraine Marie Kauppanen. Due to illness, she was adopted as an infant and lovingly raised by Dianna Hulett Stacy of Midland, Michigan and the late Ned Elmore. Brookelyn was a retired high school teacher, a dynamic Cub Scout leader and was a strong lady who lived her faith by loving and helping others. Brookelyn was a member of Free Life Assembly of God Church, and she will be missed greatly by many. She was a descendant of the Francis Cooke family of the original Mayflower pilgrims and a member of the Mayflower Society.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Wendell Bradley of the home; son; Jonathan Cooke Bradley of the home; brother, Kelly Elmore of California; sister, Afton Jennings-Davis of Michigan; and close mother figure, “Nanny Sue” Mitchell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 4, 2021, in the chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Rev. Richard Brown officiating. Private burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service.
