Brian V. Edmonds, 81, died peacefully at Hospice of the Piedmont on June 28.
He was born on December 26, 1938 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Richard Vere Edmonds and Krista Sherwood Cook Edmonds. His family moved to Winston-Salem, N.C. where he graduated from Reynolds High School and attended Wake Forest University. He joined the Army and was in Special Forces, serving as a Sargent in the Green Berets. One of his greatest thrills in life was making a cloud jump. He was a successful business manager and owner, always motivating his employees. Brian loved adventures and being outside. He enjoyed running, camping, parachuting, mountain climbing and traveling. He was full of wisdom, life experiences and getting high on life. He could talk for hours on almost any subject. He worked hard, even at a young age and instilled a strong work ethic in his children. He was a sweet, soft spoken and humble man.
He also lived in Witchia, Kansas, Kernersville, N.C., Atlanta, Ga., Leawood, Kansas and later in High Point, N.C. He bravely fought Parkinson’s disease for 20 yrs. and served on the local Board of Directors. He worked out daily at the YMCA until his last 2 months.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Jack.
Surviving are his daughter, Kim King (Danny), son, Kevin Edmonds, granddaughters, Brittany King and Chelsea Sharpe (Kris) and future great-grandson Kaptain Sharpe due in Sept., sisters, Jill Manson of Leawood, Kansas and Jan Kelley of Supply, N.C.
There will be no formal services per his request. There are no “goodbyes”, but “we’ll see you soon.”
