Betty Vass Yates

Betty Vass Yates, 89, of High Point, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born July 18, 1931, in Galax, Virginia, she was a daughter to the late Clarence Phillip Vass and the late Ruth Burcham Vass.  Betty was a seamstress in the furniture industry and a member of Westchester Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Greg L. Yates of High Point, Gary Yates (Terri) of Thomasville, and Randy Yates (Tamra) of Trinity; brothers Grady Vass and Ronald Williard (Mary) both of Galax, Virginia; sister Pauline Osmer of Gurley, Alabama; grandchildren, Brittany Bryant  (Matt), Ashley Maynard ( Dustin), Joshua McCarter Yates (Kate), Courtney Haire (Ted); great grandchildren, Jett Bryant, Piper Bryant, Finn Maynard, Rhys Maynard, Adaline Yates, and Hannah Haire.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Yates; and a brother Harry Paul Vass.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Floral Garden Park Cemetery with Pastor Eric Peacock officiating. 

The family will visit with friends following the service.
