Bartley “Chip” Louis Banks, 60, of Trinity, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Hinkle Hospice House.
Born, June 26, 1962, in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Lewis Banks and the late Inez McGaha Banks. He was an owner/operator in the trucking industry. Chip was a hard worker and was a faithful employee of RDG Trucking for over 30 years. He will be remembered as a genuine, kind, caring man with a easy going attitude and a sense of humor that would brighten any room. Chip was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his life and legacy will live on in those he leaves behind.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of nearly 28 years, Gloria Jean Banks of the home; son, Robbie George (Janet); brother, Dwight Banks (Joann); sister, Louise Jenkins (Danny); granddaughters, Tiffany Whitehead (Darren), Kimberly Dillon (Cole), Faith George; great-grandchildren, Jadon, Emma, Haddon, and Hendrix; Nephews, Sammy, Robbie (Sebrena), Charlie (Tiffany); niece, Lacey (Josh); Great nephew and nieces, Luna, Leland, Maddox, Jaxon, Rhett, Landon, Elizabeth, and Austin; special friends, Glenn and Wanda; and beloved extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Banks; and sister, Julie Banks.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Lights for Christ Ministries, 10415 South Main Street, Archdale, NC with the Rev. Robbie George, Rev. Cole Dillon, and Rev. Jamie Stevenson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 PM prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at other times at Chip and Jean’s home, and the home of his brother, Dwight.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House and/or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
