Audrey Anne (Gallagher) Merritt

Audrey Anne Gallagher Merritt, 89, of Clemmons, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Trinity Elms Nursing and Rehab.

Born September 10, 1932, in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Raymond Gallagher and the late Margaret Allen Faircloth.  Audrey worked in retail sales and was a Jehovah's Witness.

She is survived by a son, Gary Laster (Susan) of East Bend; daughters, Anne Shropshire (David) of Winston Salem and Cathy Hill of Kernersville; step son, Mike Merriett (Christel) of Spruce Pines; step daughter, Cindy Stacy of Kernersville; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Merritt, son Mark Allen Laster, and son-in-law, Daniel Hill.

Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday June 25, 2022, at Oaklawn Cemetery with Elder Joe Shanahan officiating.
