William “Bill” Robert Grose, 63, of Kernersville, N.C., passed away July 2, 2024, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born July 21, 1960, in Asheboro, to Brenda Coward Grose and the late John Stephen Grose. He spent the first few years of his life being raised around his family in their hometown of Franklinville, N.C. The family eventually relocated to Kernersville, N.C., where he spent the majority of his childhood. It was there that he eventually met and married his now ex-wife, Lori Martin with whom he had two children, Megan & Russell Grose.
He graduated from Parkland High School in 1978. Later, he began a successful career at Gilbarco in 1980 as a CNC machinist and worked there for 43 years, until finally retiring in 2023.
Faith and family were of utmost importance to Bill throughout his life. He loved spending time with and doting over his grandmother, great-aunt and the rest of their extended family back in his family’s original homestead of Franklinville, N.C. It was in there, in that small town, where he felt most at peace. He was especially proud of his two children and dearly loved being a part of their lives. Bill had a huge heart and often spent his free time volunteering for The Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville as well as the Kernersville Medical Center.
Left to cherish his memory: mother, Brenda Grose; son, Russell Grose; daughter, Megan Grose and fiancé, Kenneth Smith; grandchildren, Ryan Evans, Ella Smith and Lane Smith; brother, Brian Grose and wife Gloria; and his ex-wife, Lori Martin.
In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Manning.
Memorial services celebrating his life will be 2:00 PM Sunday, July 14, 2024, in the sanctuary of Union Cross Baptist Church of Kernersville, N.C. where all are welcome to come pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville; PO Box 2044, Kernersville, NC 27285.
