William "Bill" Monroe Hill

William “Bill” Monroe Hill, 79, of Archdale, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at High Point Medical Center. He was surrounded by loved ones as he left this world and opened his eyes to his new home eternal.

Born January 14, 1946, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Edgar Hill and the late Thelma Wall Hill. He farmed most of his life, raising cows and other animals. He loved riding on his tractor.

Bill accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 34 years old. Over the years, he served God in the church as Sunday school superintendent, trustee, song leader, musician, bus driver, and deacon. He loved gospel bluegrass and played guitar, banjo, dobro, fiddle and harmonica.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jinx Hill of Archdale; son, Scott and wife Audra of Archdale; sisters, Carla Trotter, Peggy Dennis, and Cathy Joyce; grandchildren, William Monroe Simmons, Daniel Hill, Adam Hill, Stephen Simmons, Beth Kirk, Danielle Kiser, Amanda Simmons, Johnny Simmons, Desiree Godwin, Marc Loflin, and Elizabeth Simmons; and numerous great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar Branson Hill and David Vance Hill; sister, Maddie Guntter; and daughter, Marlene Morris.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church, 2984 Rob Cruthis Road, Archdale, NC 27263, with Rev. Steve Smith, Rev. Bobby Blackburn and Rev. Paul Kirk officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service.
