Lonnie Wayne Morrison, 68, of Chesapeake Ln., passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born August 27, 1948 in Guilford County, he was a son of Helen Phillips Morrison who survives of Archdale and the late Dennis Morrison. Mr. Morrison was Vietnam veteran serving in the US Army and the US Marines. He received the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and the Presidential Unit Citation. Mr. Morrison was a former High Point Police Officer.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughters, Kerry Morrison and Laura Morrison both of Knoxville, TN, sisters, Rita Jennings and husband Mike, and Betty Morrison all of Archdale; grandsons, Bradley and Benton Morrison.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 15, 2016 in Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.
