Wayne McCanless

Arthur Wayne McCanless, 77, of Trinity, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Hospice Home of High Point.

Born November 14, 1948, in Greensboro, NC; he was a son of the late James Lindsey McCanless, and the late Vallie Ruth Dixon McCanless. He was a lifelong resident of the Guilford-Randolph county area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Shea McCanless; brother, Ronnie McCanless, and sisters, Violet Collins, Pat Woodul, and Margie Prock.

Wayne attended John Wesley College in High Point, then Hobe Sound Bible College in Hobe Sound, FL and then he acquired his associate’s degree from Alamance Community College in Business. He retired in 2010 from the US Post Office after 37 years of service. He was a supervisor in various offices.

Left to cherish his memory; his wife, Sharon McCanless of the home; sons, Chris McCanless and Landon Sink (Kayla); daughter, Jessica Goins; sisters, Eunice Ferguson (Alfred), and Janice Chancy (Gary), grandchildren, Mason Beal, MacKenzie Beal, and Grayson Goins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
