Wayne Daughtridge

Wayne Daughtridge of High Point, NC, went home to spend eternity with his Lord on May 12th, 2021.  The Family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm in the lobby area of Green Street Baptist Church, High Point, NC on Sunday, May 16th. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Following the memorial service, interment will be at Floral Garden Park Cemetery, High Point, NC.

Wayne was born in Tarboro, NC August 4th 1944. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Becky Daughtridge, brother, Dennis Gary Daughtridge and stepson, Bryan Reopelle. Wayne is survived by his wife, who was his high school sweet heart, Mary Elizabeth (Mia) Daughtridge, son Benjamin Wayne Daughtridge and wife, Corena, of ­High Point, NC, stepson, Scott Reopelle of Raleigh NC, along with God Daughter Maria Graziella Page and her brothers Andrew, Alexander, Aiden and parents Derek and Ann Marie Page of High Point, NC.

Wayne was a veteran serving in the US Navy from 1964 to 1968. He was also a 32 degree Mason at Bush Hill Lodge, Archdale, NC. In addition, he was a former member of the High Point chapter of the Sertoma club and the PICA club of NC.

Wayne was a Business Executive, President and owner of SRS Displays and Packaging in Greensboro NC.  After many years of successful operation, he sold SRS Displays and started SRS Personnel Staffing, with offices in NC, SC, and GA. In 2003 he sold his Personnel Business due to health concerns and retired, to travel and enjoy friends and family.

Wayne enjoyed ACC sports, especially Wake Forest University Sports and was a Deacon Club member for many years (Go Deacs!). He collected antique automobiles, including Studebakers and Mercedes Benz. He also enjoyed spending time at their beach home in Little River, SC.  Wayne was a longtime member of Green Street Baptist Church, and baptized in 1952 by Dr. L.B. Reavis. He was a member of Roy Kelley’s Sunday School Class for many years and was currently a member of Frank Hensley’s class. Wayne was a committed man of faith and a loving husband and father.

During his final days, Wayne expressed extreme gratitude for Hospice and their excellent care.   Donations may be made in his honor to Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, NC and/or Green Street Baptist Church.
