Dillard Wayne Brooks, 73, of Cloverwood Meadow Ln., passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born June 24, 1943 in Danville, VA, he was a son of the late Dillard Brook and the late Hilda Taylor Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a US Army veteran serving in Korea and was a retired manager in the transportation industry. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Elks Lodge, the VFW, Thirsty’s Dance Club and of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his companion of eight years, Joan Tremlett of the home, sons, Brenden Brooks and wife Amy, and Benjamin Brooks and wife Emily all of Virginia; step-daughter, Becky Forrestier; brother, Robert (Bob) Brooks all of Virginia; sister, Deane Cecil and husband Ken of South Carolina; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, M. Shawn Brooks; and sister, Mary Byrd.

Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2016 at Temple Baptist Church. Martinsville, VA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday prior to the service at the church.
