Wanda Lorraine Bullins, 82, of Kernersville, North Carolina, passed away October 16, 2026, at Summerstone Health and Rehabilitation Center of Kernersville.

Wanda was born on August 17, 1944, in Newport News, Virginia to the late Yuman and Martha Hill Thrantham. After moving to North Carolina, Wanda worked for Winson Salem – Forsyth County Schools as a bus driver for over thirty years and loved all the children she drove to and from school. Away from her work, Wanda enjoyed the simple blessings and pleasures of life. Often, she could be found sitting in her swing and watching the squirrels play and gather the food that she put out for them.

Wanda’s family and friends were very important to her, and she cherished the time she was able to spend with them. Sharing her love with family meant that she always put their needs and desires before her own. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She knew that during the holidays the whole family would be together and she would have the opportunity to see and to share with them her time and love.

Along with her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Joe Bullins.

Left to cherish the memory of Wanda’s love are her sons, Randy Bullins, Sandy Bullins and wife, Michelle, and Ronnie Bullins; grandchildren, Taylor, Brandon, Dylan, Holden, Ashley, Allyssa and Samantha; great grandchildren, Peyton and Norah; sister, Marilyn; brothers, Gene and Marshall. She also leaves behind a beloved companion, her dog, Abby.

During the last few months of Wanda’s life at Summerstone, Wanda had a very special roommate named Ann. Wanda thought of her as a sister, and they cherished the friendship that they shared.

Wanda’s family also wishes to convey special thanks to Liberty Hospice and the care she received from her nurse, Stephanie, and to those who cared for her at Summerstone Health and Rehabilitation of Kernersville.
