Walter Conard Cruthis

Walter Conard Cruthis, better known as Conard, age 92, of High Point, North Carolina, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at his home.  Conard was born on March 2, 1929, to the late William Thomas and Louthenia Cruthis in Guilford County, North Carolina.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Leonard, Liddia Ann Church, Cora Marie Moore, Jerry Johnson, Glenda Gayle Barbee and his brother Lowell T. Cruthis.

Conard was employed by Sealed Air formerly known as Jiffy Mfg. Co for 40+ years.  After retirement, Conard had his dream job of being a full-time farmer.  His gardens were plentiful, and he shared his produce all over the county.

Conard was a faithful charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where he served in many capacities.  He loved his Lord and served him daily.  Conard had a big heart and shared his love with his family and everyone he met.  He never met a stranger and was always willing to go out of his way to help anyone.  Conard had the unique gift of drawing you close and making you feel warm and welcome in his presence.  He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time working the fields and riding on his tractors.  He also loved taking everyone on rides around the farm and sharing his vegetable with them.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 71 years Norma Cruthis, son Lonnie Lee and his wife Janet of Sophia, Walter Wayne and his wife Sandra of Jamestown and daughter Phyllis Howard and her husband Scott of Hickory.  He had 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.

The family will celebrate his life at a graveside service at Guilford Memorial Park at 11am on Thursday September 30, 2021,
