Vincent Jude Desrochers, affectionately known as Vinny, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the age of 70, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Born on December 23, 1954, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Vinny was the beloved son of Lucien and Marie Desrochers of Chicopee, MA. He grew up with a strong sense of family and a quiet determination that would shape every chapter of his life.
Vinny attended Western New England College, where he studied Accounting, laying the groundwork for a successful and fulfilling career. He held various accounting and business leadership roles with companies such as Big Y, Mini Food Basket, and Dairy Mart. In 1995, he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit and became the proud franchise owner of a Dairy Mart store in North Carolina. After a decade of business ownership, Vinny returned to his true professional calling—public accounting—spending the last 20 years of his career at Apple, Bell & Johnson CPA, where his integrity, dedication, and work ethic earned him the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional life, Vinny was a man of quiet passions and deep devotion to his family. He found joy in the simple things—spending time with loved ones, playing cards, golfing, camping, and building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. He was a devoted supporter at countless dance recitals for his daughter Jocelyn and later his granddaughter Adelyn. One of his favorite ways to relax was taking cruises, enjoying the open seas and the company of those he cherished most.
Vinny will be remembered as a kind-hearted, patient, humble, and hardworking man. His loyalty was unwavering, his presence calming, and his generosity boundless. He lived his life with quiet strength and selflessness, always placing others before himself.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Maureen Ann Desrochers (Labrecque); his children, Jonathan Vincent Desrochers and wife Amanda of Charlotte, NC, and Jocelyn Maureen Rowe (Desrochers) and husband Michael of Kernersville, NC; his grandchildren, Matthew and Alex Desrochers, and Adelyn and Gabe Rowe. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Desrochers of Lititz, PA, and his sister, Jacqueline Lakota (Desrochers) of Chicopee, MA.
Vinny’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the family he adored, and the love he gave so freely.
A celebration of his life will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church (108 W Fariss Ave. High Point NC) Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in his memory to the Wilson Disease Association or Hospice of the Piedmont.
