Edward Vance Peedin, 89, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Shannon Gray Nursing and Rehab.
Born October 7, 1934, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late John L. Peedin and the late Harriet Wiggs Peedin. Vance was a retired shipping and warehouse manager at MegaChem in High Point. He was a member of Life Community Church, and "His life was committed to serving Christ and sharing the gospel of Jesus", especially through nursing home ministry for over 40 years and visitation to shut ins. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by daughters, Betsy (Eddie) Trexler of Jamestown and Angie (Randy) Barnett of Salisbury; grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Sorrell, Jonathan (Ashton) Trexler, Grant (Samanatha) Trexler, Andrew (Hallie) Barnett, Victoria (Nate) Bryant, Stephanie (Ryan) Robinson, Van (Taylor) Peedin, III, and Vicky (Robert) Swan; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Rackley Peedin, son, Edward Vance Peedin, Jr., and infant grandson, Ryan Andrew Barnett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point with Rev. Pat Ray. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM in Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors.
The family will visit with friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont and Wounded Warriors.
