Valeria Gaffney Wood, 86, of Elkin, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020, at her home.

Born December 27, 1933 in Lincolnton County, she was a daughter to the late Carl L. Gaffney and the late Carey Stockton Gaffney.  Mrs. Wood was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Wood of the home; son Ron Wood and wife Denise of Florida; daughters, Teresa Reaves and husband John of Pfafftown and Pam Lowerre of Wallburg; sister, Doris Johnson of Florida; sister-n-laws, Nancy Gaffney of Georgia, Alma Gaffney of Elkin and Irma Wood of Archdale; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Services will be at a later date.
