Tony Edward Spence, 53, of Sophia, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born August 7, 1963 in Rockingham County, he was a son of the late Paul Barrett and the late Lottie Sutphin Barrett. Tony was a self-employed painter and he loved his family and children. He enjoyed football and his favorite team was the Miami Dolphins. Tony loved to fish and was of the Baptist faith.

Tony is survived by his son, Christopher Paul Spence; daughters, Tonya and Felecia; brothers, Ronnie Spence and wife Diane of Julian, Kenny Spence of High Point, Johnny Spence of Sophia and David Spence and wife Brenda of Trinity; sisters, Molly Blakely of High Point, Kay Flannery of Sophia, Kathy Lackey of Sophia and Sandy Cecil of Archdale.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 6, 2016 in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Porter officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
