Timothy Wayne Cox, 63, of Archdale, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at his home. He was born Friday, September 9, 1960, in High Point to Wayne Baxter Cox and Marilyn Collins Cox.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne, May 3, 2004, and his mother, Marilyn, December 14, 2020.
Tim was a 1978 graduate of Ragsdale High School and in 1982 he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in Computer Science. He continued to be an avid UNC sports fan.
He married the former Elissa Huffines, October 4, 1986, and they enjoyed 37 years of marriage. Together they have 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren that are the pride of their lives.
Tim was a patient man of few words that walked in wisdom and integrity. Doing things for others was truly his known expression of love. Many memories were made as they would spend time together on their family farm in Coleridge, NC.
He truly had the heart of a servant, serving as a deacon for Green Street Baptist Church for over 30 years. While in that capacity, he also taught Sunday School and assisted with the Audio-Visuals of the church.
Left to cherish his memory: his wife Elissa Cox; daughters, Caroline Owen and husband Caleb, Kathryn Leonard and husband David and Rachel Perryman and husband Andrew; grandchildren Ellie Leonard, Reece Leonard and Noah Perryman; brother Brad Cox and wife Judy; sisters Jayn Cox and Kris Duffy and husband Tom; uncle, Clay Cox and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00AM Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in the sanctuary of Green Street Baptist Church; 303 Rotary Drive, High Point; with Pastor Brandon Ware officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Green Street Baptist Church Building Fund; 303 Rotary Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or High Point Christian Academy Gymnasium Building Fund; 307 Rotary Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
Wright Funerals-Cremations, Archdale Chapel, is assisting the family.
