Thurman "Jr" Caudle, Jr.

Thurman “JR” Clotworthy Caudle, Jr, 78, of Trinity, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at his home.

He was born November 27, 1945, in Guilford County, son of the late Thurman Clotworthy Caudle, Sr. and late Mary Alice Hiatt Caudle. On Saturday, November 15, 1975, he married the love of his life, the former Joyce Annette Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory; his wife, Joyce Johnson Caudle of the home; daughters, Erin Dills and husband Josh of Hampstead and Meredith Harrison and husband Tom of Thomasville; grandchildren, Parker Dills, Presley Dills, Penelope Dills, Walker Hines, Webb Hines and Wilkes Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Greer, Shirley Stoddard, Ruthie Milan, Delores Williams, and Mazie Walters.

As a true family man, the joys of his life were his beloved wife, daughters and grandchildren; his greatest times were spent at the ballgames of his grandchildren. JR was a friend to all; he never met a stranger. He spent a lot of his time visiting with people in the community; to know him was to love him. His lawn was always tidy as he truly enjoyed mowing the grass.

JR loved being with his church family and being a part of the “Quaker Men” at Archdale Friends Meeting. He faithfully attended until his health declined.

Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 14, 2024, at Archdale Friends Meeting with Pastor Rodney Kirby officiating.

The burial will follow in the Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1:00-1:45 PM in the fellowship hall prior to the service.
