Thomas Goodwin Gordon, Jr

Thomas Goodwin Gordon, Jr., 84, of High Point, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at High Point Medical Center.

Born August 19, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas Goodwin Gordon and the late Harriet Roberts Gordon. Thomas worked as an Electronics Technician in the United States Navy for 13 years and later in the private sector nuclear medical field, ultimately retiring from GE Medical Systems Information Technologies Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gordon; son Thomas Patrick Gordon (Jennifer Sessler) of Chapel Hill; daughter Susan Moore (Roger) of High Point; sisters, Kathy Steinmetz (Peter), Anne Brokloff, and Barbara Easter, all of Maryland; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nathaniel Wetli, Emma and Gene Beuker, Sid Gordon, Sara Gordon and Zev Gordon; and great grandchild, Jayne Wetli.

While in the Navy, Tom and his family lived in San Diego, Puerto Rico, and the country of Morocco. During that time, Tom enjoyed acting in various productions staged on base. Tom was an avid reader and also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. His other hobbies included woodworking, cars, electronics, model trains, and cooking. With his woodworking skills, he built cherished furniture pieces for each of his children. He also enjoyed helping and supporting his grandchildren with various school projects from early grades through the college years. Tom volunteered his time to his church to assist with several outdoor projects such as the memorial garden and the children's play area.

While living in Grafton, WV he custom designed and built a home for himself and his wife Patricia. He enjoyed going on family vacations that included visiting his family in Maryland, visiting his son and daughter-in-law while they lived in California, camping trips to the beach, a train excursion in Cumberland, Maryland, a memorable Alaskan cruise with Pat and an amazing family cruise to the eastern Caribbean Islands with his children and grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in High Point. .The family will visit with friends in the church parish hall following the service.
